So in between work and not having to do homework now, I have time to work on pointless projects such as this. I was looking at a bunch of moleskine hacks, and being the nerd that I am I loved this one. But I decided to just mix a bunch of hacks all in one. I still have yet to organize the gtd aspect of my portable moleskine hard drive notebook that boots the developer release of Mac OS 10.6.

I created a holster for a mini5 to usba cable.

Then just the regular pen hack

Both of them out of their holsters.

Side view of the logic board. Pulled from this casing.

So I tried to cut the moleskine like the dude from zonageek but it was just too hard so I just drilled holes through the moleskine and attached those to the HD to stay in here. There is also room left for notes and your favorite gtd system.

USB self powered so no need for a power cord obviously. This for now is just a 60 gig HD but I’m gonna get a 500 gig one off amazon so I can run an rsync on this moleskine to elsure that I have all my data wherever I go. Also did I mention this boots into 10.6? Pretty fun. Will it get hot and fail? Maybe but I don’t really care.

Little moleskine icons I found. I would post the link however I forgot where I got them. Let me know if you have any questions. I attribute my whole inspiration to this project from that zonageek site. I might start making custom ones for sale from develop. Let me know if you would be interested in me making you one!

I love it, but I think you should put the hard driiive in the middle of the book so u can’t see it, maybe with a hold for the plug and one for venting. Then it would truly be secret and no one would steel it lying on your desk at work or church or wherever
Dude, thats nuts! So how do you cool the drive since you took away the case that absorbs the heat?
Very cool man!
